    SPAN arts are offering a unique opportunity for local Musicians interested in improvisation, learning to play new, experimental instruments, and using musical skill to imagine yourself into the mind of another creature.
    Sonic Spider is an immersive, large scale, hypnotic, musical interpretation of the consciousness of the orb web spider, alone in her web, patiently waiting and listening – for the approach of prey or predator, or the wind and weather. Her whole world is perceived through vibrations, as she can hardly see.

    Join SPAN in make beautiful, recycled planters to fill Narberth with glorious colour. SPAN has received funding from the ‘Doing Small Things Fund’ to run a community planter project for the local community to take ownership of their town. Join forces creatively to make a difference to the town and fill Narberth with the vibrant, colourful plants that reflect our glowing community. These planters will not only look beautiful all year around but will be filled with edible plants available to all, housed in skilfully made, reclaimed wood planters.

    We are excited to be hosting BAMBOO by NoFit State - a spectacular new high-impact, high-skill outdoor circus production using only bamboo and human bodies - revealing the fragility and beauty of our interconnected and interdependent life on this planet.
    The artists arrive at an empty stage, bringing bundles of bamboo. They build towering sculptures which morph, transform and become an improbable, delicate circus playground that seems to defy the laws of physics.

    We are delighted to invite you to participate in Rhiannon Rees’s Gentle Painting Project as part of SPAN Arts’ 2024 Love Stories to Nature program. For our latest commission for Love Stories to Nature, artist Rhiannon Rees is running a gentle painting project and for this we are collecting dry soil, rocks and pebbles from around Pembrokeshire.

  • Creative Curiosity Celebration
    Celebrating a collection of creative voices from the rural communities of North Pembrokeshire in the culmination of an outstanding project.
    The Creative Curiosity Celebration marks the coming together of the work made as part of the recent Creative Curiosities workshops. This pioneering project by SPAN ARTS and its partners, Preseli Cares and PAVS (Pembrokeshire Association of Voluntary Services), harnessed the power of creativity through artist-led workshops to address the inequalities experienced by the rural and Welsh speaking communities of North Pembrokeshire including Carers, Young people and those Over 50. Using the arts as a vehicle to support creative, community curiosity these workshops offered an accessible platform to share in what is missing in their lives and what changes need to be made. This exhibition will showcase the beautiful Textile, Digital and Visual Artworks developed through these workshops and celebrate the creative recounting of the communities built into the works.Our Visual Arts for Carers sessions led by artists Di Ford and Fran Evans used collage as a catalyst for conversation, The group c

    Join SPAN in celebrating the We Move project with an evening of music, film and performance.
    SPAN, in partnership with Llwy Gariad group of diverse people across West Wales, is proud to present an evening of celebration for the We Move project. Join us for films and music created and presented by We Move, a Children in Need funded youth-led project for global majority children and young people. Delicious food from Zahia’s Kitchen, live music from the We Move house band, aerial performance, followed by The Successors of the Mandingue with delicious grooves from the continent of Africa. The £1m We Move Fund: Youth Social Action aims to empower black children and young people to use their voice to tackle subjects that matter to them and create change. We know that global majority young people face many barriers in British society. Inequality, racism and discrimination can prevent them from accessing as many opportunities or services compared to their peers and engaging in soc

    The Haverfordwest Lantern Parade will be back this October! This time with a difference, this time you get a say on what the parade will look like. SPAN Arts is inviting you to vote on the design of the iconic large lanterns that will lead the parade through the streets.
    You can vote online here, or pop down to the Castle Street Market on Friday the 12th and 19th of July to look at the designs and cast your vote.

    Is Oilithreach Mé
    I am a pilgrim
    Sounding the way back through story and song
    Pererin Wyf / Is Oilithreach Mé / I am a pilgrim is a participatory arts project which sought to connect with the Welsh and Irish diaspora with particular reference to a new cross-border pilgrimage connecting Pembrokeshire and Wexford.  The project took its title and inspiration from an 18th century hymn by the prolific Welsh writer William Williams Pantycelyn. The hymn has been sung to the tune of Amazing Grace since Welsh singer Iris Williams made her landmark recording in 1971. This project culminated in May 2023 with an online documentary film screening and song sharing followed by a short live streamed concert at St Davids Cathedral.
