Support Us

Your support will inspire & connect rural people, places and communities creatively using Arts as a vehicle for Social Change in West Wales

The community and the people of Pembrokeshire are at the centre of everything that SPAN does, from participant and audience members who shape our work and the volunteers who give their time to support events, to the local artists we collaborate with and the people who donate to help make the work happen.

As a registered charity we fundraise throughout the year to support our work. The generosity of our supporters enables us to continue to deliver our ambitious and essential work helping break down barriers to accessing arts and culture, celebrating diverse creative voices and improving the wellbeing and connections of our community.

Currently, we receive annual funding from Arts Council Wales as a Portfolio Organisation which contributes about 28% of our annual costs. The remaining 72% of our funds are raised each year through a combination of donations, fundraising, sponsorship and ticket sales.

Your support is vital for sustaining and growing our work and impact.

If you are able, please consider what role you can play with SPAN Arts, we couldn’t do what we do without your support.

Give a Gift

Support SPAN Arts with a donation today to help Challenge Inequality, Champion Diverse Voices and celebrate the Welsh Language in Pembrokeshire through the arts.

SPAN Arts is a registered charity, Charity no: 1088723, Company no: 04150772

We are always thrilled to receive your support through donations and are grateful at whatever level you can give. We know it is a tough time financially for many people and your support does not go unnoticed by us. Any spare pound, 5 or 10, we can ensure goes towards making a difference through the arts.

We receive 100% of donations, and you can increase this through Gift Aid by 25% if you are eligible.

With your support SPAN Arts can help to remove barriers to arts and culture for the people of Pembrokeshire and support the work of local artists – ensuring the benefits of the arts can be kept accessible to all members of our community.

Become a SPAN FAN

By giving a regular donation our SPAN Fan’s play an essential role in supporting us to deliver and sustain our programme. Being a SPAN Fan is an easy way to play an active role in supporting our work.

Instead of a standard gold, silver, or bronze membership set-up that you might see with other charities, we have a Donate What You Can model. We do this because it’s in keeping with the spirit of how SPAN works and the values we hold. Every donation is valuable and each person who supports our work is part of making a difference.

The level of donation is determined by you and what you can contribute. As a thank you for your support, all our Fan’s receive a special digital insight into the work we deliver, the creative process, our artists, and the impact your support makes in the community.

Just click the link and select the weekly or monthly donation option to become a SPAN Fan.

Once you have joined, we will contact you about adding Gift Aid to your donation. If you are a taxpayer, this will allow us, as a registered charity, to claim an extra 25p for every £1 you give. It will not cost you any extra, and if you are a higher taxpayer, you can claim back the difference between the tax you’ve paid on the donation and what the charity got back when you fill in your Self-Assessment tax return.

Build a Legacy

By giving a gift in your Will, you will help to shape the arts in Pembrokeshire beyond your lifetime.

Legacies come in all forms, and no matter how large or small, by pledging a gift in your Will you will be supporting us to continue to deliver arts as a vehicle for social change for generations to come. Including us in your will, will not only help us to continue our work to transform the lives of our communities through the arts, but could provide you with tax benefits, and is straightforward to do.

If you are interested in including SPAN Arts in your Will, or would like to discuss options further, please contact Bethan our Director on director@span-arts.org.uk.

Trusts and Foundations

Over our 30 year history SPAN Arts has built excellent relationships with a range of local and national Trusts and Foundations, and they continue to play a critical role in sustaining and developing our work today.

We are ambitious for the arts in Pembrokeshire to inspire & connect rural people, places, and communities creatively. We work with volunteers, artists, performers, and producers to co-create high-quality projects and experiences that enrich lives, tackle social inequality and improve health and wellbeing.

See below some examples of our work with Trusts and Foundations.

“Welsh speakers are attracted to attend the events because Welsh compositions and artists are included…An opportunity for everyone to speak and communicate in Welsh so attracting an audience from Welsh speaking areas in eastern Pembrokeshire – an area which can little afford such events but which Span Arts makes possible.”

Supports SPAN to sustain Côr Pawb, our mass community choir, across West Wales, which breaks down barriers and isolation in bringing people of all ages together through song.

Cor Pawb

Well I’ve met some good friends and sometimes you don’t see people from one Cor Pawb gathering to the next, but then it’s lovely to see people again and you just pick up when you’ve left off basically and you always feel it’s a safe space.”

“If I hadn’t been able to get involved with SPAN’s activity, I honestly don’t think I would have made it through. What it’s brought to my life, with circumstances as they are, is without price – by being involved it can give you a reason to go on and brings you the joy of forming a group of friendships, of doing things.”
