SPAN Arts is delighted to announce the return of the Narberth A Cappella Festival for March 2025. This spectacular and unique festival returns to the town of Narberth for 2025, bringing wonderful A Cappella offerings to Pembrokeshire. Not only this but new for 2025 a tantalising Earlybird offer has just been launched, with discounted festival tickets, priority workshop booking and more!
The Narberth A Cappella Festival, organized by SPAN Arts, is Wales’s premier a cappella voice celebration, attracting participants from across the UK. With over 25 years of history, Narberth A Cappella Festival 2025 will focus on community voices, featuring the much-loved Singing Feast and vocal workshops led by world-renowned practitioners.
The festival will commence with our welcoming Singing Feast, an evening where you can enjoy delicious food, excellent company and joyful singing on the Friday night. On the Saturday you can join our singing workshops which bring talented vocalists to teach vocal sessions in both the morning and afternoon. In the evening, we close our festival with a concert that showcases community a cappella choirs, with a line-up of UK wide and local choirs for you to enjoy.
You will be able to book individual events when we launch our event tickets in the new year or book your “Festival Tickets” that will cover entry to every event across the festival.
Vocal Workshops
On Saturday, choose from a variety of 2 hour workshops led by acclaimed and renowned vocal leaders, happening both in the morning and afternoon. These workshops will take place at the charming Bethesda Chapel on the High Street.
There will be a 20 minute sharing of songs after the morning and afternoon sessions.

Stacey Blythe
Joining us again at the Narberth A Cappella Festival, Stacey is a multi-instrumentalist and composer who has performed across the UK and America. She regularly composes for the Welsh National Opera and performs with Ffynnon and Elfen. Stacey has collaborated with various artists, poets, musicians, and storytellers, and played at prestigious venues such as the Queen Elizabeth Hall and Buckingham Palace. She also teaches at the Royal Welsh Conservatoire of Music and Drama.
Yasmine Latkowski
Yasmine is a media composer and performer known for her enchanting compositions blending diverse cultural influences. Inspired by her dual heritage and Middle Eastern melodies, she has worked on global documentaries, theatre, and community projects in Wales. Supported by Arts Council Wales, her band project “Panedeni” merges Arabic, English, and Welsh musical influences. Yasmine is dedicated to inspiring the next generation as a module leader at BIMM University in Birmingham and works on diverse school programs in Wales.
Workshop: Discover the captivating world of Arabic music in this unique workshop. Dive into the rich musical traditions that span centuries and continents, and see how they blend seamlessly with other cultures.
Phoebe, from Tenby, has lived in London and worked in community music for 15 years, leading choirs, ensembles, and workshops, while also performing. A vocal artist and composer, she has recently found joy in improvisation with other singers. Phoebe sings with the 5-piece female European ensemble Oöm and the London-based vocal performance project Pascol. Co-founder of Antidote and Vocal Playground, she runs regular music events in London and leads UK & international retreats. Phoebe is also part of the UK Vocal Improvisation festival team.

Afternoon Workshops – 14:30 until 16:30
Jay Okwulehie
Jay, an engineer, music director, worship leader, and composer, is passionate about community-building through music. Over the past decade, Jay has spearheaded initiatives like the Soel Music Experience and Swn Llwythol, uniting diverse Cardiff communities. Dedicated to cultural integration, Jay bridges African and ethnic minority communities with the Welsh language, using music for cohesion and empowerment. Driven by faith and creativity, Jay aims to positively impact both local and global communities.
Workshop: This workshop explores the integration of Afro-Welsh song compositions. Participants will learn the Welsh alphabet and sounds, along with Welsh language singing. The workshop will also cover African sounds and rhythms, and how to blend these with traditional and choral Welsh melodies. Additionally, there will be a focus on embedding contemporary musical elements into these traditional forms.
Helen Yeomans
Helen is the founder and leader of Glorious Chorus, writing and arranging all their songs. She conducts workshops around the UK and abroad, teaching her award-winning compositions. As the director of Thula Mama, she also leads mother-and-baby singing groups, now franchised across the UK.
After a 25-year break from music, Helen felt a strong urge to sing. She soon discovered her talent not just for singing, but for songwriting as well. Creating choral music became a perfect creative outlet that fit around her family life, eventually leading her to form Glorious Chorus.
Jamie Dawes-Hughes
Jamie is a choir leader and singer based in Caernarfon in North Wales. He runs two groups, Gwaenysgor Community Choir and Lleisiau Ogwen, leads workshops across the UK and regularly tours with The Spooky Men’s Chorale.
Workshop: Expect to sing arrangements of his favourite pop songs, ranging from obscure Eurovision entries to anthemic Welsh pop, but most importantly, be prepared to have fun.
