Sounding the way back through story and song
Pererin Wyf / Is Oilithreach Mé / I am a pilgrim is a participatory arts project which sought to connect with the Welsh and Irish diaspora with particular reference to a new cross-border pilgrimage connecting Pembrokeshire and Wexford.  The project took its title and inspiration from an 18th century hymn by the prolific Welsh writer William Williams Pantycelyn. The hymn has been sung to the tune of Amazing Grace since Welsh singer Iris Williams made her landmark recording in 1971. This project culminated in May 2023 with an online documentary film screening and song sharing followed by a short live streamed concert at St Davids Cathedral. Span Arts welcomed BBC Radio 4 Gardeners' Question Time to Narberth for the very first time on in June 2022.

In February 2020, SPAN brought people of all ages together to sing. Featuring Côr Pawb, Everybody's Choir and Narberth A Cappella Youth Group, they raised their voices in union across Pembrokeshire as part of Narberth A Cappella Voice Festival 2020.

 

SPAN delivered a wide range of online artist-led workshop activities in Autumn 2020 in order to improve social connectedness and wellbeing and reduce loneliness and social isolation for all ages.

 

Create and Connect created more opportunities for volunteers to get involved in the arts through interesting volunteering experiences and helped people to contribute to the regeneration and enrichment of life in their communities.

SPAN Digidol was a 2 year Leader and ACW funded project designed to open up culture across the whole of Pembrokeshire through developing a new way of delivering cultural services via digital technology to rural communities.

SPAN has established a new Arts and Health network for Pembrokeshire to build on the growing body of evidence that shows that the arts can play a vital role in transforming communities, tackling loneliness and isolation and improving health and wellbeing.
