Creative Curiosity

Creative Curiosity Celebrating a collection of creative voices from the rural communities of North Pembrokeshire This pioneering project by SPAN ARTS and its partners, Preseli Cares and PAVS (Pembrokeshire Association of Voluntary Services), harnessed the power of creativity through artist-led workshops to address the inequalities experienced by the rural and Welsh speaking communities of North Pembrokeshire including Carers, Young people and those Over 50. Using the arts as a vehicle to support creative, community curiosity these workshops offered an accessible platform to share in what is missing in their lives and what changes need to be made. The Creative Curiosity project led by SPAN Arts was funded by the Arts Council of Wales, Arts Health, and Wellbeing fund. The project delivered in partnership with Hwyl Dda Health Board connected with the aims of Preseli Cares, a wider ‘Community-led care’ project delivered by Cwmpas, which worked to explore how communities can develop solutions to their own care and support needs. Côr Pawb

Côr Pawb SPAN Arts is thrilled to announce that Côr Pawb will be hosting a joyful, one-day choral event inviting everyone to lift their voices and sing together in celebration of community, creativity, and connection. Taking place at HaverHub, a vibrant community venue in the heart of Haverfordwest, this unique musical gathering is designed to be inclusive, uplifting, and open to all. Whether you’re a seasoned singer or completely new to choral music, Côr Pawb is about showing up, joining in, and having fun. Led by two inspiring choir leaders, the day will offer participants the chance to learn new, contrasting songs in a relaxed and friendly environment. The workshop culminates in an informal sharing at 4pm, where family and friends are warmly invited to attend and enjoy a mini-performance of what the group has created together over the course of the day.   This is a free event, but places are limited and must be booked in advance through the SPAN Arts website. Participants are encouraged to bring a packed lunch and a reusable cup for refreshments. Doors open at 10:15am for registration, and singing will begin promptly at 10:30am. Côr Pawb is more than just a choir session

At the time of the project, 45% of SPAN’s volunteers were: living with a mental health condition aged over 65 living alone Create and Connect created more opportunities for volunteers to get involved in the arts through interesting volunteering experiences and helped people to contribute to the regeneration and enrichment of life in their communities.   “I’d just like to say that I’ve volunteered for a couple of other organisations and that the experience as a volunteer with Span has been by far the best. I feel appreciated, part of a team, and confident in the work Span is doing. Onwards!” Span Volunteer
