Love blossoms in the forest, as SPAN Arts Outdoor Shakespeare returns with ‘As You like It’.
After the delights of last year’s ‘The Tempest’, The Festival Players return to the beautiful grounds of Lampeter house to bring you ‘As You Like It’, a dramatic and bewildering love story that turns the conventional rules of romance on its head.

SPAN is delighted to announce the return of its extremely popular outdoor Shakespeare performance for 2025. ‘As You Like It’ explores themes of exile, identity, and love in a play that examines the fluidity of gender roles and the complexities of romantic relationships as the characters navigate the transformative power of love and nature. The forest of Arden serves as a backdrop where characters escape societal constraints and discover their true selves in this play where “All the world’s a stage, and all the men and women merely players”.
We are delighted that The Festival Players will grace the stage once again this year. Patronised by the esteemed Dame Judi Dench, The Festival Players have amassed an impressive 60 years of combined experience in professional touring theatre.
Join us on a Summer’s evening at the idyllic backdrop of Lampeter House, near Narberth. Nestled into the majestic trees and its charming grounds with its small amphitheatre, there is no better place to enjoy the delights of this Shakespearean spectacle.
There will be a bar with a selection of hot food, snacks and refreshments supplied throughout the evening. Limited seating and mats will be provided for the audience to sit on the ground, however we welcome people to bring their own seating for added comfort. The performance will take place outdoors, and audience members are encouraged to come prepared for all weathers, as the show will go regardless.
